Data sources, not operators.

Sarathi is a product of AUMLayer Cloud Labs LLP. It uses published transit and map datasets to plan journeys. Using a route number or station name does not make Sarathi official BMTC or BMRCL.

1. Independence

Sarathi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated for BMTC, BMRCL, Indian Railways or any government authority. Displaying an operator name, route number or station is for traveller recognition only. This page cites files in the Sarathi repository; it does not claim an official partnership or operator data contract.

Always follow posted operator notices, station boards and staff directions while travelling. Confirm vehicle, direction and fare with the operator you see on the road.

2. BMTC static GTFS

Bus routes, stop order, headsigns and scheduled times come from a BMTC GTFS snapshot. Unpacked tables live under transit-data/bmtc. transit-data/source_registry.json records the checksummed zip as provider bmtc. The current public site cites 4,381 route patterns from that snapshot. It is still a timetable dump, not a live vehicle feed.

The feed’s own attributions.txt lists:

  • Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) as operator and authority — mybmtc.karnataka.gov.in
  • Vonter as producer of the published community snapshot — github.com/Vonter/bmtc-gtfs

Using that snapshot for planning does not make Sarathi an official BMTC app. Sarathi does not sell BMTC tickets and does not show fare amounts.

3. Namma Metro / BMRCL (provisional)

Metro stations (currently 85 in the public count) come from a provisional BMRCL GTFS snapshot under transit-data/bmrcl. The source registry marks that artifact as a community feed with medium confidence and validator warnings. Intermediate stop times in that snapshot are approximate.

The feed’s own attributions.txt lists:

  • Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) as operator and authority — bmrc.co.in
  • Vonter as producer of the community snapshot — github.com/Vonter/bmrcl-gtfs

This is a planning dataset, not an official BMRCL publication through Sarathi.

4. Walking graph (OpenStreetMap / OpenTripPlanner)

Door-to-door walks use street geometry prepared for OpenTripPlanner from a Bengaluru OpenStreetMap extract. The source registry states that OSM is supplied at graph-build time and is not a checked-in GTFS artifact; extracts are placed under docker/otp/osm/.

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Required credit: openstreetmap.org/copyright.

5. Google Places and Maps (Android app)

The Android app may call Google Places and Google Maps when those services are configured. Required credit appears in the app, including “Powered by Google”, when Google-sourced results are shown. This public website does not embed Google Maps, does not load Google Places, and does not set advertising cookies.

6. This website

Typefaces are self-hosted under the SIL Open Font License: IBM Plex Sans, Newsreader and Noto Sans Kannada. Licence texts sit next to the font files: IBM Plex Sans, Newsreader, Noto Sans Kannada.

7. What this page does not claim

  • No official partnership or real-time operator feed unless a later notice says so.
  • Scheduled times are not live arrivals.
  • Registered address, grievance officer and governing-law venue are not published here.
